OMI has a capacity of over 100 beds and offers a variety of rooms to cater to the needs of patients. They are tailored to suit different budgets and requirements.

All rooms are well furnished with imported patient beds and other facilities according to the room category. These categories include:

Whichever accommodation is chosen, it is managed and coordinated by centrally located medical counters with computerised systems, where hospital staff is always available to assist you.

Each facility at OMI is supervised via a robust system of in-house monitoring followed by the thorough maintenance performed on a regular basis to ensure the smooth functioning of all equipment and services. Great emphasis is put on general hygiene and strict maintenance of aseptic techniques to aid the patient’s early recovery while ensuring the responsible disposal of hazardous medical material etc.

Elective Cases (planned surgeries/other than emergency) are reserved at least 24 hours prior to the procedure. Reservation can be done on phone with certain conditions. For any inquiry in this regard, please call the hospital.

RESERVATION - PRIVATE PATIENT

Following are the pre-requisites for the reservation of a private patient:

  • Consultant’s letter for admission
  • CNIC of a patient (in case the patient is under 18 years of age, birth certificate and the CNIC of one of the parents)
Medical Cases
  • Advance amount (in cash, through credit card or crossed cheque if deposited four days in advance) as per the room category
Surgical Cases
  • Advance amount (in cash, through credit card or crossed cheque if deposited four days in advance) as per the room/any special requirements (e.g., Prosthesis, etc.)
Packages
  • Advance amount (in cash, through credit card or crossed cheque if deposited four days in advance) in accordance with the room chosen from the package)
RESERVATION – CORPORATE PATIENT

Following are the pre-requisites for the reservation of a corporate patient:

  • Consultant’s letter for admission
  • CNIC of a patient (in case the patient is under 18 years of age, birth certificate and the CNIC of one of the parents)
  • Company’s authority letter/approval letter
  • Employee card/medical card (where applicable)
  • The charges of items that are not covered by the company must be borne by the patient. At the time of booking, Patient is informed about these charges at the time of booking.
  • Patients who are covered through an insurance company who are already carrying the company’s authorisation are booked immediately. However, if approval has not already been communicated, the intimation form (varies from company to company), duly filled by the front desk representative and the emergency room medical officer (where applicable) is sent to the insurance company. In such a case, the patient is informed that the reservation will be made only upon receipt of the authorisation from the company
  • When the authorisation is received from the company, the patient is informed of the Hospitalisation limit assigned by the company and the room entitlement
  • The patient is booked in accordance with the room entitlement and informed if any over and above expenses shall be paid by him / her

Note: If pre-admission investigations are required, then the patient needs to get those done prior to the day of reservation.

If a patient is admitted in an emergency via the Emergency Unit:

Private:
  • CNICs of the Patient and his/her authorised person are required at the time of admission
  • An advance amount needs to be deposited before admission, depending on the procedure or treatment
Corporate:
  • The patient needs to bring a company letter and in case the company’s letter is not available, then his/her company card is kept on hold till the letter is submitted
  • Room entitlement is as per company policy

If a patient is admitted via front desk (elective case – planned treatment):

The patient is required to bring consultant’s letter as well as the reservation letter.

Private:
  • Room choices and charges are briefed to the patient/attendant
  • CNICs are required of the patient and his/her authorised person at the time of admission
  • An advance amount needs to be deposited before admission, depending on the procedure or treatment
Corporate:
  • Patient needs to bring a company letter and in case the company’s letter is not available then his/her company card is kept on hold till the letter is submitted
  • Room entitlement is as per company policy

Note: The patient is required to bring the reservation letter & consultant’s letter at the time of admission.

  • Registration/Reservation
    • Obstetric patients are booked only on specially designed OMI premium packages. According to the hospital policy, obstetric patients are required to be booked for delivery in advance, whether it is normal or c-section
    • The booking must be made at least two months before the delivery date. If the booking is made later than this period or close to the delivery date, permission from the management is required to ensure that the patient followed normal prenatal protocols and required information in this regard is available
    • The following items are required at the time of registration/reservation:
      • Consultant’s letter of admission
      • CNIC of the patient and husband
      • Advance in accordance with the category of room selected
    • A Package Understanding Form is also shared with the patient/attendant which has to be signed by the person making reservation
    • A list of things to bring at the time of admission is also handed over to the patient/attendant
    • The patient is informed that in case of an emergency, she can come to the hospital anytime, however, it would be better if the hospital is informed via a call before leaving their home so that the Obstetrics Unit and the staff would be ready to receive the patient
  • Admission
    • Upon arrival, the patient is immediately sent to the Obstetrics Unit where the patient is assessed
    • If the patient is required to be admitted, the attendant is asked to get the admission formalities completed at front desk
    • The attendant arranges for the amount to be paid at front desk for admission (delivery or assessment, as the case maybe)
    • If the admission is for delivery, the amount is charged in accordance with the package booked. If the admission is for assessment only, the amount is charged accordingly
  • Attendant’s Policy for Obstetrics Patients
    • For obstetrics patients booked for vip, deluxe or private rooms, two attendants are allowed until the patient is discharged. For a sharing room and general ward, only one attendant can stay with the patient
    • Obstetrics patient’s children under 12-year age can only visit their mother during the visiting hours
  • Patients are discharged between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. only. Stay beyond noon will result in application of full day’s room charges to the overall bill
  • On the day of discharge, you are requested to give the staff ample time to be able to complete their comprehensive discharge procedure. Please be informed that approximately, 4 hours are required to prepare a final bill from the time of discharge of the patient by the consultant
  • Kindly settle your bill with the patient’s accounts officer at the front desk after collecting the final bill from the billing department, both located on ground floor
  • After discharge, in case you require any additional information regarding your treatment, or if you have any difficulty, please contact your consultant or the OMI Public Relation Officer (PRO)
  • At the time of admission, two attendants can accompany the patient to the room. Once the patient’s history is complete, only one attendant can stay in the room, the other one can wait in the security lobby, if desired
  • On the surgery/procedure day, if the patient has taken a private, deluxe or vip room, two attendants from the time of admission till the shifting of patient in the Room from OR/Cath Lab, attendants can stay in the room
  • If the patient is in ICU/NICU, the attendant cannot wait in the ICU/NICU lobby. He/she could have a seat in the security lobby or go home and visit the patient during the visitor timings. However, if the attendant is keeping a room (on payment) while the patient is in ICU / NICU, the attendant(s) can stay in the room
  • The newborn’s mother can visit to feed the baby in NICU, whenever required/allowed
  • General Ward bed cannot be “kept” while the patient is in ICU/NICU
  • In the event of cancellation of a reservation, the patient/attendant is asked to state the reason of cancellation
  • Cancellation is only possible via a written request, duly approved by the management
  • After cancellation, the amount taken at reservation time is refunded to the patient/attendant (if authorised). If the cancellation is made 12 hours prior to the admission date, hundred percent of the reservation amount (after adjustment of charges of any investigations done) is refunded, otherwise, one-day room charges are deducted plus cost of any investigations performed at the time of reservation
  • The consultant and the operation theatre are informed about the cancellation, too

Presently COVID in place visiting protocols are:

WEEKDAYS: 11 AM to 12 PM and 5 PM to 7 PM
SUNDAYS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: 11 AM to 1 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM
  • Children of any age (maximum two at a time) can visit the patients during the visiting hours on any day
  • Visitors are not permitted inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • A maximum of 2 family members will be called into the ICU in the immediate post-operative period so they can see the patient and get initial information. However, the attendant carrying the attendant's pass can proceed to the ICU lobby and will be allowed inside when the ICU staff permits. There will be a briefing time by ICU staff/consultant about the up-to-date condition of the patient daily between 11 a.m to noon outside the ICU lobby for an immediate family member only
  • For babies admitted in Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the parent, if not keeping a room, shall be given an attendant's pass to visit the baby as and when allowed by the NICU staff
