The purpose-built cardiac catheterization laboratory is designed to provide a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions including coronary and peripheral angiography, angioplasty and stent placement, right heart catheterization, temporary and permanent pacemaker insertion -single or dual chamber and valvuloplasty. The equipment consists of a high quality Philips unit, which is geared to meet the performance demands of current interventional cardiologists. This is supported by excellent nursing care, a full array of ancillary and emergency equipment, allowing the cardiologist to perform complex procedures in a safe and friendly environment. The Cath Lab is operational round the clock, catering to elective procedures as well as life-saving procedures for in-patients with cardiac emergencies.
The cardiac non-invasive lab is conveniently situated next to the cath lab. It is equipped with specialized machinery which allow for complete echocardiographic examination including two dimensional echo, color doppler imaging, exercise stress ECG, exercise stress echocardiograms, pharmalogical stress echo, transeosophageal echocardiogram, peripheral vascular doppler etc.
Both invasive and non-invasive labs have emergency backup facilities in place and are staffed by experienced and trained nurses and technicians. Computerized reports are generated for the ease of the clinicians and patients. An optimal blend of technology, quality nursing care and medical expertise allow us to provide the best possible care for the patients.
